Modern LVP is embossed with a low-slip micro-texture rated for stair use. It's more slip-resistant than a polyurethaned wood tread and holds up just as well in a humid Florida entryway.
Yes - we remove whatever's currently on the stairs, padding, staples, and tack strip first, then evaluate the treads underneath. Solid treads get a quick level and the LVP goes on top. Particleboard or damaged treads get replaced.
Not when properly installed. We re-secure every tread and add construction adhesive before laying the plank, which actually makes the staircase quieter than it was before.
